Celebrating 15 Years of Airbourne Colours
On 1st November 2025, Airbourne Colours proudly marks 15 years of excellence in aircraft painting and refinishing. From humble beginnings to becoming the UK’s leading specialist, the journey has been defined by innovation, growth, and an unwavering commitment to quality.
Founded in 2010, Airbourne Colours commenced operations at its first hangar in Bournemouth, with European Aviation as its inaugural customer. Just a year later, the company reached a major milestone when Jet2 joined as a key customer, further establishing its reputation as a trusted partner to leading airlines.
Growth accelerated in 2014 with the opening of a paint bay at East Midlands Airport. A second bay was added in 2015 to meet the rising demand for aircraft painting in the UK. In March 2016, the business expanded its capabilities with the creation of Airbourne Graphics & Signs, supporting both aviation clients and a variety of other industries.
Another strategic step for the company was the launch of Airbourne Executive at London Biggin Hill Airport, which provides specialist painting services for business jets and attracts a strong portfolio of prestigious clients, including Bombardier, Gulfstream., Inflite Engineering and Harrods Aviation. To further serve the business and commercial jet market, Airbourne Colours expanded to Exeter Airport with a paint facility capable of handling aircraft up to ATR 72, offering customers greater choice and flexibility.
In October 2024, operations commenced at Teesside Airport, further solidifying Airbourne Colours’ position as a market leader. With the company’s order book full, a second aircraft paint facility – Hangar 9 on the airport’s north side – opened on 1st November 2025, marking a significant investment in the future. Both hangars accommodate narrow-body aircraft, including the Airbus A321 and Boeing 737 MAX 10.
Since its establishment, the company has painted more than 1,200 aircraft for an impressive list of clients, including Jet2.com, BA CityFlyer, Loganair, SmartLynx, SAS, TAP Portugal, Air Dolomiti, Lufthansa, and Brussels Airlines.
Fifteen years on, Airbourne Colours continues to grow and invest, driven by the same commitment to quality and service that shaped its very first project back in 2010. As the company looks ahead, its focus remains firmly on delivering world-class aircraft painting solutions to customers worldwide.
