Aircraft Painting Trainee Programme
Launch your career in aviation with a specialised training opportunity that’s taking off in Tees Valley!
Applications are now open for the Airbourne Colours Aircraft Painting Trainee Programme, an exciting six-week programme designed to be a gateway to a high-demand career in aircraft painting. This unique programme will provide foundational skills and knowledge in aircraft painting to excel in this specialised aviation field.
Delivered through an innovative partnership between ourselves, Hartlepool College, and supported by Tees Valley Combined Authority, this programme will begin on 9th June 2025.
This programme includes:
- An initial six weeks of foundational training at Hartlepool College
- Following successful completion of the initial training, advancement to a further 19 months of training, combining paid practical and educational phases, at Airbourne Colours’ state-of-the-art facility at Teesside International Airport and Hartlepool College
- Opportunity to earn the internationally recognised SAE AS7489 certification upon completing the full 21-month course (inclusive of the initial six weeks)
- Route into a career in a specialised industry
The programme is funded by the Tees Valley Mayor and Combined Authority through its Adult Skills Fund, and will equip participants with essential skills in aircraft paint spraying, offering valuable industry experience and a stepping stone towards a long-term career.
Applicants must have been 19 or older on August 31, 2024, and must live in the Tees Valley.
