‘TIntin’ Belgium Icon Livery for Brussels Airlines
Airbourne Colours is proud to celebrate the rollout of Brussels Airlines’ latest special‑livery aircraft: an Airbus A320 (OO‑SNJ) transformed with a spectacular Tintin‑themed design. The aircraft was completed by our industry-leading team of aircraft painters at Teesside Airport, who worked meticulously to bring another striking Belgian icon to life.
Taking 14 days to complete, the aircraft, unveiled on 12 February 2026, marks the sixth special livery we have delivered to Brussels Airlines and highlights our continued support for the airline’s creative celebration of Belgian culture.
Employees supported through the Airbourne Colours Aircraft Painting Trainee Programme – backed by the Tees Valley Combined Authority – worked on the aircraft.
The new design, developed in close collaboration between Brussels Airlines and Tintinimaginatio, features the aircraft with Tintin and the Moon on one side and Snowy and Captain Haddock on the other.
The aircraft’s inaugural commercial flight was scheduled for Friday (February 13) to Milan, which is hosting the ongoing Winter Olympics.
Airbourne Colours Chief Executive Steven Darbyshire said:
“We have built a strong and trusted relationship with Brussels Airlines over the years, and we are extremely proud to have delivered another bold and eye‑catching special livery for the airline.
“It’s fantastic to see our Teesside team rising to the challenge on a project of this scale and profile. It shows the skill, precision and passion we have here, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Brussels Airlines on future projects.”
We extend a huge thank you to everyone involved in making this another outstanding team achievement — especially our talented aircraft painters, our Airbourne Graphics & Signs department, and Aerospace Engineering Solutions for providing the Part 21J exterior livery drawings and EASA‑approved certification.
